Verifying a Genuine Apple Pencil:

1. Get the Serial Number: Find the Serial Number of your Apple Pencil - Apple Support
2. Enter the Serial Number here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/.
3. View the Results: Report back what it says. If it shows up as an Apple Pencil, then all is genuine.

I would return it to Best Buy and ask to speak with a manager. Although I'm not aware that Best Buy is in business to sell fake products, it may always be possible that either they received one (where the Pencil was switched out for the fake) or someone at the store/warehouse did the deed. Regardless, Best Buy management should make this right. If they don't, you know where not to shop in the future.

I just brought a fake Apple Pencil 2nd Gen from EBay, but it won’t charge had all ligit serial numbers everything even Apple told me to send it in for repair but obviously now I found that out I can’t do that
