MacBook Air setting up ICloud

I bought a new MacBook Air and am trying to set it up bit ICloud “setting up account” has been stuck spinning for hours, how do I exit or terminate it.

Can not sign out of iCloud before selling my MAcBook Trying to sell my old MacBook Pro. I followed the instructions for selling a Mac, & was @ step 4 (Sign out of iCloud),but when I attempted to sign out of my iCloud on this device I keep going through a loop effect. I first signed in to my iCloud account, then was asked to log in the MB Pro, then clicked on the sign out of iCloud. I saw a screen to keep a copy of my iCloud data on this Mac, which I checked yes. Next a screen to save Safari passes, again yes. The next screen takes me back to the initial screen to sign in to iCloud. This keeps repeating ad nauseam. I have no idea what to do now. Ventura - iCloud signout fails I am on an MacBook Pro 16", macOS Ventura 16.1. When I try to sign out of iCloud it is very slow and then fails to complete. Have tried Safe Mode, reinstalling macOS.
