Shortcuts

Hi hi hello. I’m trying to run a shortcut I’ve designed from device 1 to be activated on device 2. The ultimate goal is to learn what the current battery level of the device I don’t currently have with me is while it’s charging, to then optimize it into giving me 5% or 10% updates whenever they happen. If I run this shortcut, it only tells me what my local devices battery level is

How do I remotely activate this shortcut on an iPhone from an iPad/other way around?

Lucy ~ The following automations are triggered automatically, but will ask you for confirmation before actually running the automation:

  • Arrive
  • Leave
  • Before I Commute
  • Email
  • Message 👈
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth

Lucy ~ Have you set up an automation on device 2 which would be triggered by the message from device 1 shown in your screenshot? ...However, that automation still may not run without turning on device 2. I'm not sure, so consider asking on this Shortcuts sub-Reddit — it has many more Shortcuts experts than here on ASC.

Messages can be sent automatically. I just tested an automation triggered by Time of Day: It sent a message. But what Apple restricts you from doing is to run an automation triggered by Message without confirmation, i.e. receipt of a message. See if this helps on Reddit:
