Message saying iPad was hacked on Facebook

I got a weird message when I was on Facebook that my iPad was hacked and they would take my identity. I didn’t call the number that popped up just shut down by using the buttons on top and side then the slide on the screen. How do I tell if I was really hacked?

You can tell you were not hacked because they ask you to call them.

They want you to call them so they can try to get you to give up sensitive information(like credit card details, or try to have you send them money)

Never trust anyone saying you were hacked, especially if they are telling you to do X, Y or Z.
