Lyft app over riding my silent mode

how do I make Lyft stop overriding my phone settings? I have phone on silent, notifications for Lyft on silent, notification button off and Lyft still blasts out a notification sound and their announcement of rides. This is outrageous

Disabling Loud Headphone Alerts All of my loud noise warnings come from my phone being turned all the way up when connected to a Bluetooth device that also has volume settings. (meaning: it’s not actually on full whack in my environment. It just makes it easier controlling one level rather than two.) I should be allowed to remove/disable this setting, but there is no option to turn it off on my phone or watch. It’s irritating and actually less safe because the alerts will come up when I’m driving and last as banners I have to swipe away manually if I want to still see my GPS. I’m sure I’m not the only one receiving these unnecessarily. Even if it was possible to register certain devices as Bluetooth speakers — and not headphones — so that it isn’t applicable to that monitoring that would be much better.

point of silent mode? Can somebody please help me out here... what's the point of silent mode?! I would think the silent mode switch on the side of the phone would be universal, I.e. not allowing ANY sound to come from the phone at all. I frequently ride the train to work and hate it when I go into various apps and find that the volume is way up and blaring. I have to rush to turn down the volume, which gets annoying even after I've set the volume all the way down several times throughout the day. If they've already set the ability to adjust notifications and sounds from each app we download onto our phone, then they should make silent mode universal like it used to be.
