Q: iTunes unknown error 13010

The solution of deleting the genius file works but in my case, this needs to be done each time iTunes is restarted. What gets me is that there was an update earlier this year that seemed to fix this issue but then another update came out within a week or so and now I'm back to deleting the file everytime I want or have to restart iTunes.

No! Not the iTunes Library.itl file!! That is what makes your library. Delete that and when you open iTunes you will get a blank, brand new library which will certainly take care of the issue because you will be starting from scratch (the media files will still be on the computer). By "re-scan your media" this will mean adding it all again to the library, rebuilding your playlists, starting off with playcounts zero and no ratings.
Caddyfan, I see you have systematically posted in quite a number of topics about this issue. I hope you post a correction about this in each one, or if you did indeed mean delete the entire library file at least make it clear this will be a consequence of your suggestion.

It also won't let you delete the genius file if iTunes is open. This causes a problem if you have just ripped/added tunes to your library because they won't be saved and you have to shut down itunes to delete the file.
