Apple Music Play Count Sync?

So I have an iPhone 13 Pro, an M1 Macbook Air, and Apple Music. When I listen to music on my laptop, the play count goes up accurately but if I listen on my phone, the count doesn't change. Is there a setting that I'm missing or something I need to do to get that synced?

I tried closing out of Apple Music on my laptop and restarting my phone but that didn't help at all.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Hello brianaliu1,

We understand that you're working at syncing your playcount. In iTunes, check the settings for "Sync playback information across all devices". Additionally, do you use Apple Music? If so, check out and see if your library is set for syncing. Here's information on that setting and where to find it: Use Sync Library to access your music library across your devices - Apple Support

Cheers!
