Can you make a payment directly to your Apple Card from the Apple savings account? I tried adding it as another bank account and it looked like it would work but the payment was rejected. If not, THIS NEEDS TO BE AN OPTION!!!

Seems the interest-bearing savings account does not work that way:
Set up and use Savings in Apple Wallet - Apple Support
says:
"You can't spend money or make purchases in Savings directly through your Apple Card or Apple Pay".
(Seems you would have accepted that in order to set up Savings.)
Seems you can, however:
Transfer money from Savings to Apple Cash or your bank account
and for the accepted payment method:

Transfer funds from Apple Savings instantly to Apple Cash, then use funds in Apple Cash to pay Apple Card statement. When Apple Card is paid that way available credit is updated near instantly.
