How can I prevent automatic callback by touching lock screen notification?

This is so annoying. I just want to be able to clear the notification completely without having to go through a dance to get to the list of calls first. Just cause I'm looking at a notification doesn't mean I want to call it. I should be able to clear a notification AND the badge with the missed call count quickly from the lock screen, or choose the behaviour of what happens when I touch on the notification. Calling back is not logical for the way I use my phone.
