Mac forces into mono audio when in a call

When I join a call (e.g. Discord, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom) all of the audio from my apps is forced into mono. This significantly drops the quality and makes programs such as Boom lose functionality. Is there a way to fix this?

When I listen to my recording, the audio is only coming out of 1 speaker. I have already tried to configure the settings on the Focusrite control panel and there's no setting to record in Mono... Mac mini: USB audio input not working in apps I have a Mac mini running OS 12.7.4 (Monterey). I'm trying to convert old cassette tapes and vinyl records to MP3 files, using a Griffin iMic USB converter. I have tried EZ Audio Converter and Audacity; both these apps recognize the USB converter, but neither registers an audio input when I start the cassette player or the record-player. The same thing happens when I use my Logitech USB headset: both EZ and Audacity recognize the headset, but neither show any signs of audio when I speak into the mouthpiece. Strangely, the Mac DOES respond to audio from the iMic or the Logitech when I select the 'Sound' icon in the 'Preferences' menu.
