Bands are honestly personal choice. And ANY band which keeps the watch firmly enough to your wrist will do what any other band which keeps the watch firmly enough to your wrist for the sensors to work. You don't want the band too tight. You don't want the band too lose.

As to materials, you should decide what you'd enjoy wearing the most. You can choose silicone, leather, metal, etc., and not one is necessarily better than another.

I have amassed a large Apple Watch band collection over the years and I change my band often, to suit my attire or the environment I'll be in in a particular day. Do you need something to swim in? Go with Silicone. Do you want something more elegant, go with leather and/or metal.

You might want to stop by your closest Apple Store, where they have displays you can see and try on the options Apple sells to get a sense of you think might work best for you. And once purchased, you are not limited to only Apple band options as there are thousands of aftermarket options out there, some of which are very high quality.

You're welcome. When you purchase a new Apple Watch, you have to choose a band with it. If you're looking for breathability, a fabric band is more breathable than silicone. You might want to look at the Braided Solo Loop. Size is an important consideration and they offer a sizing chart to help you measure your wrist before you buy a watch.

Silicone bands come in two sizes S/M and M/L. You don't want the watch to fit loose. The sensors won't work reliably if the watch is too loose on your wrist.

Ps: If you have a BestBuy store near you, they have a desk with Apple Watches on display and you can try on bands there too.

Thank you. This kinda helps. Silicone bands are one size? Fit loose or tight? I'm looking mainly for sleep monitoring, comfort and breathability

I buy silicone bands on Amazon for less than $10. I've had some of them get loose after a couple of months. I've just replaced them. There are many sources of third-party bands that are much cheaper than Apple.

I really like my Milanese loop. It's infinitely adjustable and very comfortable. I wear it to bed.
