When i call someone i can’t hear them i’ve called a friend and they answer but i can never hear anything and it’s not a problem with my airpods, volume, or speakers so what do i do ive updated my phone to the newest update too idk what else to do pls help

I can’t hear if I put my phone to my ear, the other person can hear me but I can’t hear them i can o my use my phone on speaker, it does not work if I put my phone to my ear. The other person can hear me but I can’t hear them
