VPN on my iMac

Is it okay to give keychain access to a VPN Service provider? It has me concerned since my keychain has user/pw info. (iMac)

I can think of 3 reasons to use a VPN

  1. You have to use it for work (I use a VPN to gain access to my company's internal network, and my company would get into serious trouble is they were to be selling my data to a Data Broker).
  2. You are in a country or maybe just in school, and you need to bypass net nanny blocks of the local network
  3. For some reason you need to appear in a different region so you can access material not offered in your current region (watch your favorite sports team).

Otherwise, using a VPN as a regular day-to-day service is a waste of your time, and if the VPN vendor decides to sell your connection history, there is not much you can do about it.

Unless the user is mandated to use a VPN to work remotely and connect to the Corporate Head Office VPNs are basically useless.

They are a Business and like any business Profits are their Main Purpose

They can and have been know to Harvest the User Data for selling to the Highest Bidder.

Added, they will now have your e-mail address, credit card information, Other Personal Information and what / where your Internet Connects come from and go to.
