My iPhone goes into downtime by itself

I get a notification randomly says something like 945 minutes remaining until downtime and then 5 minutes later my phone goes into downtime when I asked my parents they say that they didn't put my phone into downtime and I tried restarting it many many times and is not working so can someone please tell me what is going on with this stupid glitch. Thanks

The problem is not that Downtime exists. The problem is that the phone is initiating Downtime when it is clearly not downtime. For example, my child’s phone is supposed to go on Downtime at 10pm. But, it will stop working at random times during the day, telling him at 2pm for example that it is Downtime.

That just happened to me. I literally turned on my phone and it was in downtime. This is not the first time it happened and it’s preventing me from doing things that I need to do. It’s pretty annoying because I ask my parents and they say that they didn’t do anything and it’s just so infuriating and frustrating like there’s not even a 5 minute notice it just shuts off. Please fix this, Apple.

I have this issue too, my device is supposed to go on Downtime at 10:00 Pm every day, but on Sunday at 15:55 pm I get the screen time notification saying 999 minutes remaining. And 5 minutes later it goes into downtime.

and I check on screen time it says downtime off until schedule but clearly it’s on.

can someone give me a possible fix for this **** issue that has been going on since 2022.

I think he means that downtime is INTENTIONALLY set up, however it will randomly tell you that you have x minutes of screentime left, and then 5 minutes later it will turn off (it is similar to the notification you get 5 minutes before downtime starts, however this will usually be random and not during downtime hours). The same thing happens to me. Is turning downtime on/off again the only fix? What do I do if it keeps happening?

Thanks

I use an iPhone 8 and this has happened multiple times.

A similar thing has been happening to my younger sister. My dad has always had screen time set up for us but since I’m older than 18 now it doesn’t affect me anymore. She gets a notification saying 104 minutes left until downtime, and then it randomly will go into downtime even though our dad doesn’t have a downtime set. It’s very frustrating and our dad isn’t interested in turning off the parental controls for her screen time. It also shows when she goes into setting and to screen time that downtime is “off” but all her apps are disabled. Please fix this apple!! She has an iPhone 12 and it’s version 16.1.1

Same here. My phone will give me a random notification at a random time of day saying something like "235 minutes until downtime", and within a matter of minutes my phone turns downtime on? Does anyone have a solution? The only way I found is by asking my dad to turn screentime off and then on.

Downtime is a feature meant to restrict usage of your phone after hours, to disable this feature, go to Settings - Screen Time - Downtime, and ask your parents to enter the Screen Time password (if applicable) and disable the switch. This feature was most likely accidentally enabled when setting up your iPhone.

Same problem here. And until now I have no idea whatsoever if there is sort of a pattern behind the malfunction. Downtime is set from 11 pm to 7 am. First time this problem occurred for us seems to be 15 September 2023. But as this feed started much earlier (27 April 2023) it doesn't seem to be connected to a recent update, does it?

Any ideas about a solution?
