Hello jonabels243,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you’re unable to update your payment information due to getting prompted an error message. If so, we’d like to recommend some steps to help you out. If you’re getting prompted this error message on an iOS device, try using a computer and update your information that way. Follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the Apple ID website: Manage your Apple ID
  2. Sign in.
  3. Select Payment & Shipping.
  4. Update your payment information.

If you don't have access to a computer you can use and you're using an iPhone to update your payment information, then follow the steps below:

1.) Go to Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases.

2.) Tap on that option and select Sign Out. This step will remove songs, movies and books you've downloaded for offline use.

3.) Sign back in and try again.

We hope this information helps you. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
