Google Chrome/High Sierra

Did anyone ever figure this out, why Chrome randomly closes with that O/S? I'm seeing some very old posts regarding this, I guess it has never been solved (booting into safe mode makes no difference), just thought I'd put this out there again since it seems it has been a while. I cannot upgrade beyond High Sierra, can't really afford to buy a new machine and don't wanna put much money into this one since it is almost toast.
