trying to eject a USB drive. None of the tutorials apply because nothing shows up on the desktop acknowledging the USP port being used

Can't eject a thumb drive from the side port. tutorials refer to an identifying icon on the desktop. I find nothing to right click/eject.

Open Finder and click the little Up pointing triangle to the right of the drive. That will eject it.


You can also open Disk Utilities and eject there.
