macbook pro apple logo randomly flashing

hiya right so i have a early 2015 macbook pro and the apple logo that lights up when you open your mac is doing that randomly when the mac is closed, the screen is damaged so that could be the cause but i honestly dont know, the mac is quite old now so that also could be the cause but i dont know tons about the internal mechanisms so does anyone know why?

edit: just saw that the newer macs back logos dont flash (maybe due to things like this?) anyway would appreciate any help

Seems like the laptop is waking up. It could be due to an app, or it could be due to a sleep sensor issue (either lid not sitting fully closed, or a bad sensor or Logic Board). Or in your case perhaps the cracked LCD is doing this...hard to tell.


One thing you can try is modifying the Energy Saver or Battery System Preferences to disable "Power Nap".


You can also try booting into Safe Mode which disables the automatic launching of third party apps to see if the issue still occurs.
