Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter for mid-2011 iMac

Hi All,

I am using Mini DP/Thunderbolt port with my imac mid 2011. But it is not working , I have tried all these methods

Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support (IN)

What exactly are you trying to connect to the 2011 iMac?

That adapter does not support connecting another Mac or PC to use the 2011 iMac as a display in Target Display Mode.

The adapter only supports connecting an external HDMI display to the 2011 iMac for a second display.

It doesn't work with a Windows® PC...

iMac models introduced in 2011, 2012, 2013, and mid 2014

To use any of these iMac models as an external display:

The iMac used as a display must have macOS High Sierra or earlier installed.
The other Mac that you're connecting it to must have been introduced in 2019 or earlier and have macOS Catalina or earlier installed.

That will not work. The iMac is a computer, not a display for other computers or devices.

If you need a display for your windows Laptop, then you will need to buy, use an external display.

As I am developer so I wanted to use my imac as 2nd display with my windows laptop.

Can you please recommend particular adapter that will work in this case from amazon india or any other website?

I believe it should work, if you check the below link from apple website they have provided the steps also.

For me road block is that I am not able to find the right adapter which I can use with my Thunderbolt port to HDMI.

If you read the article carefully, it says that Target Display Mode only works with a limited number of Mac computers.
