I changed my apple id can I transfer the stuff over to my new id since it’s still on my phone?

I changed my apple id through the allotted method and my itunes music and media from the former id is still on my phone signed in under the later if I sign out will it transfer over to the new Id or will it be deleted since the old id has been deleted? My Game Center transferred over is why I am wondering if the media will transfer over I will note that I believe that my music is downloaded onto my device and not on the iCloud itself so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Update I contacted Apple support again and they confirmed that currently there isn’t a feature that would let me transfer already downloaded music from a previous apple id/iTunes id onto my new one even though it is my account, unfortunately my only options would be to restore/reuse the previous id, and redownload all the music onto my new id if I buy a new phone. They noted that there’s no harm in keeping the music on my iPhone I just can’t make any new iTunes purchases and my Apple one Subscription which was part of my cellular plan is no longer valid (not sure exactly why but ok) guess I will have to make list with my music library so I can have it when I upgrade my iPhone that’s going to be a long list.

If you do it using the correct method then there should be no need to transfer anything. It's only if you create a new account that you have trouble.

Here's how you change the email address you use for your Apple ID:

1. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in.

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, choose Apple ID.

3. Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID.

4. Choose Change Apple ID.

5. If you changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Learn what to do if you didn't get the email. --> If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

6. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID. --> What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

For more details, read the document: "Change your Apple ID" --> Change your Apple ID - Apple Support

Note, that if you used the new email address to create the new account, you will need yet another email address in order to change the address on the old account. It won't let you use the email address you just used to create a new account.

we I did with the help of Apple support by choosing an alternate email in my I contacts list under my Apple ID however my itunes is still signed into the previous id still when I pull it up in settings, everything else has transferred over automatically except for iTunes and the Apple Support rep I talked to said if I signed out of my old I tunes that I would lose all my downloads because that id was deleted but I have had support reps give me inaccurate advice before like telling me to delete my email app because I couldn’t access it through imap even though I could still get in through the app, (the actual app not just remove it from imap and add it back, lost everything saved in archives) so I’m not sure if it’s true or not.

If your old account was deleted then even if you manage to retain what you have now, should you wish to update apps, or redownload them with your new account, you will have to purchase them again.

From what I can tell my Game Center got transferred over to the new Id as a Online Game I play I am still able to log into and play with the new Id though I haven’t tried changing phones yet so I don’t know if I will lose access when I do. Though Game Center may operate differently than iTunes but I don’t see why it should they are both Apple services.

I just reread the information you linked more carefully this time, as all my music is already downloaded on my phone however when I pull up Music in settings it still has the old id at the bottom listed as sharing for some reason. I don’t know if that means the old ID wasn’t properly deleted or if it just means that I didn’t sign out of the iTunes account before deleting the ID. When I was on the phone with Apple Support and they were talking me through how to change the ID all they said I had to do was choose an email in my Apple Contacts list (the emails under my Apple ID) delete the previous ID then sign out and back in. However from the way the link you provided is worded I should have signed out of the previous ID chose an alternate email then deleted the previous one to save all of my stuff, unless I am misreading it. Also thanks for posting this another Apple Support representative said if I reused my previous ID everything would go back to normal I’m not sure why based on this information.

I do have all my photos downloaded onto my device as I have always kept all my photos on my device rather than on the cloud and I believe all my music is on my device as there is a faded gray arrow instead of the black arrow that usually indicates ready to download. And all of my apps transferred over but again I haven’t switched phones and now I am a little nervous about switching thinking I no longer have an ICloud but if I don’t that begs the question what is all my stuff uploading to? I know when I was in account recovery and my phone reconnected with the cloud a warning popped up saying that it connected with an unknown google server Apple Support said it was fine but I have found my photos on google I wonder if I have had a data breach? Anyway I am rambling now sorry for the long response and the delay in responding I have been busy
