AirPods Max connected but no sound

Hi, I’ve had my AirPods Max for 2 years during which time I’ve loved them and have had no issues at all. Then, last week the headset became unresponsive. They connect with both my iPhone and iPad no problem, but there is no sound coming from the headset, not even the chime when you put them on. Also, overnight the charge level fell from 100% to 1% while they should have been sleeping in their case. I’ve reset them multiple times, ‘Forgot’ them, toggled the ‘Auto Head Detection’, and made sure no other Bluetooth items have stolen the signal, but to no avail. Is it a coincidence that they have just received the firmware update to 5E133, or am I just being paranoid?! I’d appreciate any advice to get them working again.

Thanks

AirPods Max

Hey just had the same problem. I put my headphone in the case plugged them in, then I turned Bluetooth off on all my devices and presses forget device on my phone. Then I held down the power button on the headphones for 1 minute took them out the case held the volume button for 10 seconds then I turned Bluetooth back on, on my phone held the connection button and it paired and started working.

hope this helps

Nah bro! Don't give up hope! xD I've had my 2nd Gen AirPods for years and they've never failed me. It's just sometimes they can be a little finicky.

There is one trick you could try? If you go into Settings >> Accessibility >> Tap Audio Visual >> Turn on Headphone Accomodations >> Turn On Phone & Media >> Turn Off Mono Audio >> And make sure that your Audio Balance is in the middle at 0.0

This COULD help.
