Barely any sound on music/iTunes

Hi everything was fine last night with various songs but this morning I can barely hear the music. I'm on a MacBook Air and things are fine on YouTube, voice messages and other things using sound, but even after quitting music then updating and restarting my computer, the sound is still barely there. I've looked at Sound Enhancer under Preferences but even putting it on high does nothing. I really need this back to normal if anyone has the answer. Thanks.

We understand you have some sound issues on iTunes specifically, but other apps are working without issue with your audio. You noted that you have an iMac with macOS 12.4 installed. If this is correct, the first step would be to fully update your macOS. The latest version for macOS Monterey is 12.6.5. Often, macOS updates will resolve many issues.

If the issue persists, the next step will be to rule out possible underlying causes. A good way to do that is to boot your Mac to safe mode to see if the issue persists. Then, create a test user profile, log in to it and test the audio in iTunes.
