Uconnect won’t maintain connection and changes songs, places calls, puts calls on hold

Suddenly, after working flawlessly for 5 years my iPhone when on Bluetooth or plugged in won’t maintain a connection in my Ram Truck

it

-places calls randomly over and over to same person then removed that person from my favorites

-puts calls in progress on hold

  • cannot maintain a connection for music
  • skips songs in middle of a song
  • plays a minute ofi a song and starts over
  • Wi-Fi connection lost and won’t reconnect

I have an appointment at the dealership as this only happens in my truck but what changed?

my phone cannot upload the latest release. Each night it tells me there was an error This is 16.4.1 that won’t load.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you’re experiencing some unexpected behaviors when using your iPhone with your  Truck. If so, we’d like to recommend some steps to see if we can further isolate this issue and sort it out. First, you can try to restart your iPhone. This is a simple step that helps refresh things: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support


You can also disconnect/forget your truck via the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone. 

1.) Go to Settings > Bluetooth.

2.) Tap the information button for your Truck and select “Forget this device”. 

3.) Reconnect to your truck and test again. 


If you’re using a cable, try testing a different cable. Also, you might want to consider checking for firmware updates that might be available for your truck stereo. You did mention you had an appointment with your dealership. That might be the best time to ask for a firmware update.

Thanks for checking with the dealer and letting us know the solution.


Regarding the update, there were issues the other day, but they have been resolved.
