Cannot just empty the trash, have to open trash and use delete immediately. What happen to simple click & delete with Ventura?
If I try right clip, empty trash, it sits there spinning until I stop the process. At that time, the trash is empty. What pain.

Do you have the same issue while booted into Safe Mode? If not, then you most likely have some third party software which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Typical culprits are anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software....none of which are needed on a Mac.
If Safe Mode does not make a difference, then create a new macOS user account. Log out of your main user account. Log into the new macOS user account to see if you still have the problem deleting or emptying the Trash.

May be working -- booted in SAFE MODE and emptying trash works "as usual". Will see how it goes when rebooting, etc. Thank you!
As info, if you haven't already, the latest version of Ventura is now: 13.3.1 (a)
Thx -- I am at 13.3.1. Not sure why I have to now do an extra 1-2 steps to empty the trash?
