iPad disabled connect to iTunes 2023

hello, my iPad says connect to iTunes but iTunes is no longer supported on MacBooks MacOS 12.6

How can I get around this?

If you iPad is not recognised when connected to your computer, try using a different USB port; if your computer has both USB-C and USB Type-A ports, try using the USB Type-A port of the computer.

You are not limited to using a Mac to restore your iPad; a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC (with iTunes for Windows installed) is just as usable:

Download and use iTunes for Windows – Apple Support

Update to the latest version of iTunes – Apple Support


If you don’t have access to a suitable working computer of your own, that of a helpful friend or family member will suffice. Alternatively, the technicians at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store will be delighted to assist with restoring your iPad:

You may also need your AppleID and associated password. If these have also been forgotten, they can be recovered here:
