Hi aimeegagnon,

If your MacBook Pro is starting in macOS Recovery, it typically means can't find the startup disk. The next time it boots into macOS Recovery, run First Aid on each volume, container, and then the entire storage device to check for and fix errors with these steps:

A Disk Utility window showing three volumes, a container, and a storage device in Show All Devices view.

1. In the Disk Utility app on your Mac, choose View > Show All Devices.

2. In the sidebar, select a volume/container/storage device, then click the First Aid button .

3. In the First Aid dialog, click Run, then follow the onscreen instructions.

4. When the First Aid process is complete, click Done.

5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each volume on the storage device next.

6. In the sidebar, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each container on the storage device..

7. Finally, select the storage device, and repeat steps 2 through 4 again.

If any of the volumes, containers, or the storage device present failures let us know.
