IPhone and IPad - since update to IOS16 Mail very slow to load message content

Slow on iPhone mail but not slow on my Samsung notebook so it’s not the connection. Appears to be off and on. iPhone 13 has all updates and tried all fixes but no luck.

Hi jacque101,

If you're still experiencing slowness in the Mail app on your iPhone and iPad, try to remove your email account and set it up again. Your email may need to be re-provisioned after the recent update.

It's very important that you confirm your account is an IMAP account before taking this step. Removing a POP account may cause data loss.

Remove your email account and set it up again
1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device.
2. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Add your account again.
If these steps don't work, contact your email service provider for more information.

First off… just to post a message here, I have to click a million disclaimers… typical Apple BS. Secondly, solution for the slow email on iPhone… download the Gmail app, it’s instant, the mail there a good five minutes before it arrives on iPhone and you don’t have to put up with the incessant “downloading mail‘ message. Personally, I think iPhone does it on purpose with their little ongoing feud with Google, but all it does is make their iPhones crappier than they already are so if you’re stuck with an iPhone download the Gmail app to make your life more enjoyable.
