Moving music from iTunes to iPhone

I want to move music files from my PC to my iPhone 14 Pro. These are songs that are not available on Apple Music. Syncing with iTunes does not work. I do not wish to upload these files to iCloud, or have my Apple Music playlists moved to iTunes. I just want to move them from my PC to my iPhone. What's the secret?

Windows, Windows 10

Hey there kicksave98,

The first thing we wanted to point out is the fact that regular backups are recommended for any content you don't want to lose, in this case, music stored on your Windows PC. If you don't have your music backed up outside of your computer, we recommend using an external storage device.

While you can use an Apple Music subscription to sync those songs to any device using the same Apple ID for the Apple Music subscription, the decision to use this subscription is entirely up to you.

Moving forward with the question you're asking about how to sync music from your Windows PC to your iPhone, this link has the steps to take for doing this: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

Cheers!

Hi kicksave98,

Per Use iCloud Music Library on PC:

"WARNING: After you turn on iCloud Music Library on a device, all the music that’s currently on the device is deleted and replaced with songs from iCloud. Also, you can’t use iTunes to sync music with the device. You can add songs to the device only by downloading them from iCloud." (emphasis added)

As the songs are not in the Apple Music Library and you indicate you do not wish to upload those tracks to your iCloud Music Library, it would be necessary to turn off iCloud Music Library for the device in question. Note that in doing so, should you turn that back on in the future per the above warning, "all the music that’s currently on the device is deleted and replaced with songs from iCloud" which would result in the removal of synced tracks.

As an alternative, you may try the file sharing option as described in Transfer files between your PC and devices with iTunes to see if it's possible to transfer those songs directly.

Regards.
