I would like to update some apps in the App Store - like pages and keynote - however, even though I am logged in to my appleID it prompts me to log in as my partner (who has used the computer before) and won't allow me to change the appleID to my own. How do I change this?

Your partner probably downloaded these apps under their ID. Delete the apps entirely and re-download them with your ID. Since you only mention Apple standard and free apps this is the best solution. If it extends to other apps, you may need to set up Family Sharing with your partner.

Thank you for your reply! If I delete pages will it delete all the pages documents I have saved on my computer?
If you delete the app itself the documents should stay. If you delete the documents then the others will go too.
