iPad case removal
My old hard case for a 9.7 iPad has to be pried off? I can see no other way. Or if anyone has ever had this problem how did you get the case off?

Many fitted-cases are designed to be a tight fit. Removal is generally the reverse of that used to fit the case - instructions for fitting (if only a simple pictogram) being supplied with the case.
In general terms, cases have some “give” or flexibility. You should never attempt to first remove the case from the corner that is closest to the physical Top (Sleep/Wake) and Volume buttons - as you may damage the buttons.
Instead, begin at the diagonally opposite corner, easing the case from around the expose corner of the iPad screen. Working along the long edge of the iPad, gently ease the edge of the iPad from the case. Do not attempt to pull the iPad completely out of the case.
When the entire long-edge has been freed, continue to free the bottom short edge. You should hopefully now have the two edges of the iPad, furthest away from the physical buttons, free of the tight fitting case. You can now attempt to ease the iPad out of the case, being mindful of the physical buttons.
Hopefully, you will now have successfully remove the iPad from its case. When fitting a case, always insert and position the corner adjacent to the physical buttons first.
