Resetting the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app removes your personal information and restores the app to its original settings. If you plan to sell or give away your device, or uninstall the app, you might want to reset it first.
1. Open the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Choose the Reset option.
If you lost or can't access your device but are still signed in to the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app, remove the device from your Apple ID device list.
If you reset the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app on a smart TV that's also signed in to the Apple Music app, the Apple Music app restores to its original settings.

I have the same issue. This is the app on a smart tv. Not the Apple TV product. The Apple plus app will just randomly switch off in the middle of a show and reset to my apps screen. Even more annoyingly it doesn’t at least save where I was at in the show. If I don’t want it to continue doing this when I go back into the app, I have to reset the entire tv. It’s not my internet. I pay for a very good service. I subscribe to every major streamer. Apple plus is the only app that has this problem. I suspect some problem on the coding or interface between the app and Vizio smart tv’s.
I am also having this issue. This is not an Apple TV device - the Apple TV application on my Vizio Smart TV is constantly buffering that results in lagging. The issue is not due to network issues either.
Apple streaming technology is substandard. Netflix was smoother 13 years ago than Apple TV is today. It even glitches on Apple devices. Apple is on its way out. Their products and services have declined exponentially over the past 5 years. Every single apple product I own has major issues of some sort or another.
Same issue. I’m not going to continue paying for a service that won’t stream on my Vizio. No other app does this

It’s so bad it’s almost unwatchable. And, only the Apple TV app experiences this: none of the other apps do. Apple, please fix this. It’s gone on long enough!
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence, but signing into my Vizio account on the tv seems to have stopped the AppleTV app from glitching 🤞🏻
I did a complete factory reset of my tv and it seems to have helped, but I’m not logged in! I’ll try that, too.
I have done everything recommended but it didn’t fix the problem. Constant freezing, buffering, and shutting down. So incredibly frustrating. Causes me to want to not keep Apple TV subscription.
I believe it is the app itself on Vizio. Something is off there. It works fine on my phone and my sister, who isn’t using Vizio, has no problems.
