Buying a used macbook pro

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop and wanted to buy a lightly used 2021 MacBook Pro 14" screen, M1 Pro Chip, 16 GB RAM, 512 storage SSD. Found a private seller who has it for sale for $1200. Is that a fair offer?

Anything to note, ask, or consider during the buying process? I've never purchased a used laptop, but wanted to get the best possible value safely.

Thank you!

When Purchasing a Used Mac:

Have the Seller Use this Site: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your Mac - Apple Support. The seller needs to sign theirself out of iCloud on the Mac. Elsewise it will be a brick to you, and you'll never be able to sign out of it, and associate it to your own account. Have the seller allow you to associate this to your own Apple ID prior to handing over the money. If the seller decides to not abide by those rules you've set forth, then do not proceed with the transaction.
