Deleting a duplicate unverified location in Apple Business Connect?

I've accidentally created the same location twice in Apple Business Connect. One was already verified, so I'd like to get rid of the duplicated one which has not been verified.

Only answers I can find say to report the listing on Apple maps, but it's not been published since it's not verified, and there's no point in getting rid of the already published one.

EDIT: I found the remove location button under location preferences, however since I'm managing this for a client I don't want to randomly say 'location closed' or 'location sold' etc - do these actually have an effect on how the location is removed (especially if it's not published?)
