To find the purchase date you would need to look at the purchase receipt from when you got the device. If you purchased the device from the Apple website, you can view your order history here: Order Listing
If you purchased the device from an Apple Store location, you'd need to visit them to get a receipt copy. If you purchased the device from your wireless carrier or another retailer, you'd need to contact them for a purchase receipt.
