Issue with Mac talking to Datto server

Hey guys,

I work for a design company and we have recently change to a Datto server to back up our work but we're having issues with the Search function, it doesn't work. We've spoken to our IT company who says that Macs aren't compatible with Datto and there's no way around it, we just have to live with not being about to search our server. Anyone that works in design knows that the search function is imperative. So I was wondering if anyone has any insights or knowledge that might help!

Your best bet would be to reach out to Datto for assistance. I would also question why your IT company allowed or initiated the switch to Datto if they know you use macOS and that Datto isn't compatible.

Ditto from me too. Having supported macs in industry (especially the creative ones) and education I have to wonder why your management did not consult with you first, whether they fully discussed the implications of the their chosen server solution which they decided to pay for with the company they decided to use to install/support it?

I’ve seen this lack of thought and waste of time/money too many times over the years and I would have thought - by now - it had changed. One can only hope it will one day?
