2023 MacBook Pro M2 & Studio Display "Smart Charging"

I purchased a 2023 MacBook Pro M2 with Studio Display 1 month ago. I’m running the latest OS.

The Display is permanently connected to my MacBook and charges my MacBook too via thunderbolt.

I researched “smart-charging” and thought that the Display would charge my laptop to 80% and maintain that charge. Instead it’s charging it to 100% and maintaining that as per attached picture.

Is it normal to maintain 100% charge after 1 months use?

And would this decrease the battery life?

TIA

The computer is in control of the entire charging process. The power source merely replies to the computer's query with its capabilities, and the computer tells it what power to provide at what level and when.

Battery Health Management tracks you usage, and will adjust to lower maximum battery charge levels over time, provided you do not demand a lot of battery power in the interim.
