Out of case notice

My AirPods were replaced by Apple, but I kept the original charging case, which was embossed with my number. Now on Find My iPhone I get a notification that they are “outside of case”. Sometimes the case itself rings like an alarm to let me know that the “wrong” iPods are inside. How do I re-link the AirPods with my case?

Lost Airpod Pro Case I lost my airpod pro case on the bus, bought a replacement no prob. Problem is someone found my old case and I get alerts telling me my airpods ( email should be linked to the device) are being tracked by whoever found my old case and I can't figure out how to stop it and its very unsettling . Find my AirPods Pro 2 case I just replaced my case through Apple care but now only my AirPods can be found in find my no longer my case so I lost the feature of playing sounds on my case if I lost it. I am running the latest iOS 17.0.3 and my AirPods are up to date and I tried turning on and off find my in my phone and AirPods. How can I fix this problem?
