How to remove Maps from lock screen

Maps is not available on your lock screen.

You can't turn off Apple Maps replacing the Lock Screen during navigation. To view your widgets and notifications, swipe down from the center of top of your iPhone's display.

Other apps, like Google Maps or others, do not "hijack" your lock screen during navigation, instead only providing push notifications and voice directions when not using the app.

You can stop it. When maps is on the Lock Screen swipe right hand corner to short cuts. Then pick something like calculator now lock again…. It shouldn’t show up then unlock phone and swipe calculator away. It still shouldn’t show back up when phone is locked. It doesn’t for me. It took me a while to figure out…. Im a taxi driver and it drove me up the wall lol…. Then one day it didn’t show…. Took me ages to retrace my steps and what i had done. Like i said it works for me on iphone 14 pro max good luck

Put the phone in your pocket with the screen away from your body and it won’t press any buttons.

I’ve never seen Maps on my lock screen. Can you post a screen shot?

Thanks, @bumbleben0, it hadn’t occurred to me that that @lisiemom was actually using Apple Maps at the time. Yes, if you are navigating then logically the map should be visible all the time.

That does work! I originally tried calculator before the Lock Screen which didn’t, but selecting it from shortcuts of Lock Screen stops the map appearing.
