Why aren’t older models getting IOS16. I have 1st gen SE so I’m annoyed that I don’t get the features that ios16 had that I’m missing out on
Why are apple doing this and is there ANY way to get ios16 with getting a new phone?

None of the other phones in the same general timeframe as the 1st Gen SE.......iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, etc......are capable of handling iOS 16.
These phones were all introduced 7-8 years ago when iOS 16 was 5-6 years into the future. Not sure how you would design a phone for software that will not even exist for another 5-6 years.
If you want to run iOS 16, you need at least an iPhone 8, but my advice would be to go for a model that will run iOS 17, so you don't get stuck again in another 4-5 years from now when a new iOS version is introduced.

Because they don’t meet the minimum hardware requirements for ios 16.
That device was released in 2016. Almost 7 years ago.
Because they don't have enough RAM, powerful enough CPU.
No, the only way to get iOS 16 is to own a phone that supports it.
