I did ask apple to fix the record and it was escalated, A week later they said this is the replacement phone and that unless the reseller is an authorized apple reseller (seller EcoCELL is not) apple supervisor said there is nothing they will do. My only option is to pay $450 for a used screen to be installed with no possible warranty. No repairs of any type are available for this phone by Apple or any authorized Apple repair process, Best buy, etc. If I return the phone there will be a 15% restocking fee regardless of any issue found. The phone is not reported as stolen, no record of theft of any sort was found, iCloud and find my iPhone is clear as described in the ad. It works with T-mobile sim as described in the ad. So I am boned if I return the phone or pay for an aftermarket repair, loose-loose situation for me. My other iPhone LCD type repairs had no issues like the iPhone 13 Pro oled screen. My advice DO NOT EVER BUY AN USED OLED APPLE TYPE iPhone! Apple has made it almost impossible and extremely costly to go outside of their system! They have you hostage if you use their latest iPhones, they own you....
There are two common reasons for that.
This can happen if the iPhone was purchased from someone who had stolen or acquired the iPhone illegally. This has been mentioned in the news a couple of times in the past where an entire shipment of devices was stolen. But, Apple knows all of the serial numbers for those devices and flags them as such. Then you see issues like this.
Another possible reason why the serial number isn't valid is because your iPhone may have had an issue (previous owner) and they received a replacement iPhone. After that, the previous owner is required to return the older phone to Apple, but sold it instead.
Didn't you ask the same question with Apple Store personnel for a fix? Only they can help you determine the cause of the issue and provide guidance on what steps to take next.
