Is there a way to manually copy and paste the same old password in the empty password field and save it ( but not going to add new password .
I am not going to manually enter the password or go to the website on web and sign in , using Mac OS catalina with latest update .

We're having some trouble understanding what you're trying to do.
If you are just looking to paste in a password into the empty password field, macOS supports that. You would use cmd-C to copy and then cmd-V to paste the text into the password field.
However, if this is not what you're trying to do can you clarify a bit further?

Command and C will not work in the same field try your in Mac , there is a function to copy it before deleting it , right click over it and copy it , again use command and delete keys to delete the password , again right click over it and paste it .
Second method is in the first page hover the cursor over encrypted password ( in the first window , that is before editing ) , right click over it and click on copy , come to next window ( click on edit ) , empty the password field ( use command delete keys ) , and then use command and V keys to paste ot , click on save finally .

We don't think it is possible to do what you are describing in the Passwords pane.

It is possible , right click over the password field ( the password is encrypted , you have to click on copy password .
Then click on edit , delete the complete password from the field in next window , and paste the copied password ( use command and V keys ) , the same password will be pasted and click on save other way is in empty field right click over it and click on paste , click on save in the last .
Note : I am not adding a new password in the empty field and updating it , and saving in the last .
I am not clicking over delete password , this will delete the password from iCloud Keychain permanently .
if I again click on delete password the password will be gone forever .
