Cannot enter data in “To” field in outlook mail on safari, OK in other browser

My customer’s mac running OSX 10.15.7 has recently bumped into below issue:

Start safari, go to outlook.live.com and login
Create new mail
When you try to enter text in “To” field you can not enter anything.
Same issue for “CC” field
However if you do same in e.g. firefox or chrome there is no issue
Also my own mac with same OSX has same issue!

Apple support suggested reinstalling OSX, but since two macs have exactly same issue, I

wonder why this would help.

These old macs cannot be updated further, so that is not an option.

Any suggestions?

As you've already been in touch with Apple Support and were provided the next steps that you mentioned not having yet tried, we recommend trying them now.

Afterwards, we recommend getting back in touch with Apple Support to let them know the results, and continue from there as you've already began troubleshooting this with them. Just in case, you can use this link to get in touch with them a second time: Get Support
