Turning on my Apple TV ruins in-home game streaming for other devices

Been trying to use PS remote play on my iPhone from my PS5 (connected via Ethernet) and have been having really weird intermittent stuttering issues. Sometimes it works, others I get stutters every second making the game unplayable.

Weirdly, the source of this seems to be my two Apple TVs (both on Ethernet). If they are on, either on standby or streaming video, my PS Remote play does the stuttering. I’ve tried 3 different “high-end” consumer router/APs, same behavior.

I’ve messed with a million settings, verified that two Ethernet devices stream fine, but when an Apple TV is on, things go bad on wifi. (However, Steam in-home streaming on wifi is unaffected, so it’s some sort of weird I incompatibility with Sony and apple)

I guess the Apple TVs have some sort of ad-hoc wireless possibly causing interference? Are there any other router or Apple TV settings I can tweak to fix this?

It sounds like you might be having some issues with how your network assigns priority to your devices over Ethernet and Wi-Fi. We can help.

Since you're using your devices to do the two most bandwidth-intensive activities; streaming and gaming, it might be worth looking at how your network is structured and try to eliminate any bottlenecks between devices. This could mean limiting the bandwidth available to each device.
