Downloading Videos from iCloud.com

Hello together

My problem in short: When I download a video from iCloud.com, the quality (incl. colour) is much worse than when I transfer the file via data cable. Yes, even with the option to download "unmodified originals".

I have already googled the problem but have not found an answer.

Detailed:

I have recorded various videos on my iPhone (with the Video app and with the Filmic Pro app). The camera videos on 1090p60fps the FilmicPro on 4k60fps. When I now download the videos via iCloud (including the option to keep the originals), the videos are in much poorer quality - not usable for my purposes.

However, if I import the videos via the data cable and the Windos photo function (which partly doesn't work because of poor Windows-Apple compatibility), the files are really in their original size and quality.

So is it not possible at all to download the original videos (I haven't even tried it with photos yet) from iCloud.com? I have also tried moving them to iCloud Drive on the mobile phone first and then downloading them - also poor quality.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello Phipu,

When you choose the "Unmodified Original" option your photo or video should be as it was originally captured or imported. Just to confirm, when you download videos from iCloud, do you ever receive an error message? If so, what does the error say?

Does this happen with all videos, or does it seem to vary, or happen intermittently?

The above details will help us plan how to proceed.
