Spatial Audio/Airplay issue

I am using Airplay from my iPad Mini 6 to my M2 MacBook Pro using an AirPods Pro 2. The only iOS devices I own is an iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Pro and the iPad Mini 6. On all of those devices, when I connected my AirPods to it, i set the Spatial Audio to Off. However, when I use airplay and connect my AirPods to the MacBook, it automatically turns on head tracking Spatial Audio. Since you can’t access the settings of your AirPods while in Airplay, I don’t know how to turn it off. Does anyone relate to this and does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi, I came here with the same issue. In my case I am sharing Apple Fitness+ workouts from my iPhone 14 Pro to my M1 MacBook Pro to see them on a bigger screen. I have AirPods Pro 2 as well. When I am watching the workouts on my iPhone or on my iPad Pro I can select the type of spatial audio (I use fixed spatial audio, since when working out, your head moves too much around and the algorithm for head tracking has trouble following accurately). But when cast to my MacBook, no option, and it defaults to head tracked, which is annoying.

There's no option to set the "default" spatial audio when no spatial audio is playing. I tried playing some spatial audio videos on my MacBook and set the AirPods to fixed. But when I stop the video and switch back to the airplay cast it switches back to head tracked.
