Focus an iPhone through a window screen

How do you get a clear video when filming through a screened window? Occasionally, I can have some success by holding the phone right on to the screen, kind of forcing it to focus through the grid. Stealth is key when filming some birds, and any movement can scare them away! It’s hard to use a tripod this way, as well. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello BirdBabe!

Is the screen removable? Perhaps you could keep it off, until you open the window. Then, you could capture a spectacular image, and the only downside would be that you have to put the screen back up each time you want to open the window. But that doesn’t even compare to a beautiful bird picture, does it?

Nice to meet you too! 😊

Well, you could leave the window closed, and keep the screen removed, so that the opportunity for a perfect picture will be ever so closer. Do you use the window often? I’ve also taken my fair share of photos through a window screen, and the only way to take a clear picture, is, like you said, hold the camera up to the screen.
