My dictation recognises comma, question mark and exclamation mark and uses the appropriate punctuation but when I say ‘period’ it actually types the word, not a dot. Every time. I’ve tried saying ‘stop’ ‘end’ ‘dot’ ‘point’.

When I use voice text it recognises comma, question mark, exclamation mark with the appropriate punctuation mark but NOT period. It always types the word ‘period’ instead of a dot.

What language is Siri set to? Settings>Siri & Search>Language. In some dialects of English, mostly the ones used in Commonwealth or former Commonwealth countries, the term is "full stop".
