If you are talking about “overtype mod”, that is only possible in certain apps like Word.

Yep, that gets me the option to overwrite. On my MacBook Pro running MacOS 13 Ventura, I two-finger tap the bottom border of the Word document to get the menu you showed. Thanks so much! Cheers!
