I am working on a new Mac Studio and all files in our studio live on an external Synology Server.
When I try and preview a PDF in a finder window (In column view) it often crashes the finder?. It does not happen every time. I have changed my connection to the server from FMP to SMB which seems much more stable but I have started getting the same issue?. Does anyone have a fix for this?

It sounds as though you're having issues with your Synology NAS external hard drive. There is a possibility that this can lead to having you reach out to Synology for the best support, but before it leads there have you tried creating and saving documents in a different user to see if the same issue occurs?
If not, and you don't have another user account set up you'll want to create a test user using the steps in the following article. Take note of your findings, and let us know what happens.
