Dell display S2722DZ 27” - gmail icon error connected to Macbook Air M1

My Macbook Air M1 is connected through USB-C to a Dell display S2722DZ 27”, using it as an external monitory.

When I mirror the display, the same error occurs - only then the Macbook display doesn't display the gmail icons in Safari either.

I have updated the firmware on the Del Monitor to M3T103. The Macbook is running Ventura 13.3.1 (a), with Safari version 16.4.

This has taken a long time to resolve, but I have finally found a fix.

The error occurs with USB-C connecting the Macbook Air to a new Dell Display.

I used an HDMI connector, and the problem disappeared.

I then re-connected the USB-C connector, and the problem isn't there any more either!

It seems that you need to use HTMI once, and check the gmail icons are there - after that, you can go back to USB-C, and it works.

A very odd problem!
